Former CYF President Arrested
CROMWELL - The former president of the Cromwell Youth Football, LLC (CYF) organization has been charged in connection with fund embezzlement from the league.

       Peter Stergos, 45, of 511 Main St., was arrested Friday, Aug. 8, on a warrant for third-degree larceny, Cromwell Police said. On Friday, Aug. 8, CYF board members had reported that Stergos had allegedly embezzled an approximate total of $7,467.01 from the league’s player registration account between May of 2012 and July 2014, police said.

       â€"Stergos admitted to stealing the money from the CYF LLC account to pay his personal bills and to make unauthorized purchases,” police said.

       As of press time, Stergos was held on bond and turned over to marshal for arraignment, police said.
