Shotgun Fired Inside Cromwell Home
CROMWELL - Two Cromwell residents were arrested after police responded to a reported gunshot on Senator Drive Tuesday, Sept. 16.

       At approximately 8:45 a.m., Cromwell Police received an emergency call reporting a gunshot and screams on Senator Drive, police said. Upon arrival, officers detained Amanda Swiski, 25, and Nathan Varricchio, 21, both of 28 Senator Dr., who were arguing in the driveway of the home.

       Police determined Swiski had fired one shotgun shot inside the residence, police said. Midstate Major Crime Squad--consisting of Cromwell, Rocky Hill, Newington, Wethersfield and Berlin police departments--responded to assist with crime scene processing, police said.

       Swiski was charged with breach of peace, first-degree reckless endangerment and unlawful discharge of a firearm. A convicted felon, Swiski was additionally charged with criminal possession of a firearm, police said. She was released on a $15,000 non-surety bond and was scheduled to appear in court Sept.17.

       Varricchio was charged with breach of peace and interfering with a police officer, police said. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond and was scheduled to appear in court Sept. 17.
