Responders Recover Body from Connecticut River in Cromwell
CROMWELL - Police have yet to identify a body recovered from the Connecticut River in Cromwell Sunday, Nov. 9.

       At around 11 a.m. Sunday, a kayaker reported a body floating in the river to Cromwell Police, who, along with the Cromwell Fire Department Marine Unit and marine units from the Middletown and Portland fire departments, responded to the Cromwell Outboard Association’s boat launch area along River Road, police said. After a search of the area, the body was located and recovered.

       â€"Investigators from the Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene. Based on the initial investigation, the unidentified body appears to be that of a black male, approximately 5’10” to 5’11” in height, wearing jeans and sneakers,” police said.

       The investigation is ongoing and the Cromwell Police Department is asking anyone with any information to contact the department at 860-635-2256.
