Teen Literacy Group at Cromwell Library
CROMWELL - Teens who are off from school have a chance to put in their community service hours at the library this summer. The result for the library will be some fun events.

On Wednesday, July 22, participate in an acrylic painting night based on the novel All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. Join us from 6 - 8 p.m. for a fun evening of painting with guidance from Katie and Ali, our two excellent art instructors. We must limit our painters to a total of 25 Cromwell residents ages 12 and up. Sign up early at the library to save your spot. If you cannot come in, call the library at 860-632-3460 to see if there is a spot for you.

Every Friday the library will offer a one-day book sale to benefit the Friends of the Library volunteers. Supporting the Friends helps the library offer more programs and other services that aren’t provided for in the library’s budget.

On Friday, July 31, we will celebrate â€"Once in a Blue Moon Day” at the library! We will not charge fines for overdue Cromwell items. A â€"conscience” jar will be available. Donations for all activities for Blue Moon Day will be given to our Blue Star Mothers. The proceeds will be used to support our Middlesex County troops who have returned from active duty.

Visit our local travel display in the library foyer for inexpensive travel tips and a list of our library museum pass pass program funded by the Friends of the Library. Your community library wants to help you save money and enjoy the summer!

Look for other events as we gain support and enjoy our beautiful gardens created by our patrons and members of the community. There is a wonderful art display in July and don’t miss all of our regular programs. Don’t forget to enjoy all of the wonderful databases that are available on the library’s website.

Summer hours run July through Labor Day, Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
