Swimming Season Wraps Up
ROCKY HILL - Wethersfield had another solid season, placing sixth overall at the Class L finals at Wesleyan and then finishing a respectable 15th at the Open Championships at Yale.

       At the class finals, The Eagles 200 yard freestyle relay team of Alyssa DiFiore, Abigail Francis, Maura Stewart and Idalis Irizarry combined to placed third overall. DiFiore, a senior, also placed fourth in the 200 yard freestyle and seventh in the 500-yard freestyle. Francis, a freshman, placed fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (seventh at the open finals) and sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke.

       Newington also competed in the Class L finals, finishing 19th. Senior Michaela Murray, juniors Lindsey Mangiafico and Charlotte Shepard and freshmen Sophia Maselli and Julia Holland swam well in relays during the event.

       Rocky Hill placed 14th in Class S finals, which took place at Wesleyan the day before the Class L finals. Senior Brooke Chao placed fourth in both the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle. Chao also competed at the open finals to close out her senior campaign.

       Cromwell finished 28that the Class S finals. Senior Holly Gamer tallied all the team’s points, finishing 15th in 50-yard freestyle and 16th in 100-yard butterfly.
