Wethersfield’s Slayton Honored
WETHERSFIELD - Wethersfield senior goaltender Jimmy Slayton was named Connecticut’s Player of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Slayton wrapped up an incredible career at Wethersfield, protecting the net as the Eagles soared to a conference title and earned a trip to the Class L championship game this past season. Along the way, he and his defensive helpers shutout 16 opponents, a school-record.

2015 marked the second straight season that Slayton was named All-State and the third straight season that he was honored All-CCC. The graduating senior is off to play for the University of Harford Hawks next season and plans to major in business.
