Hartford Transit Study Personnel Seek Input in Wethersfield
WETHERSFIELD - The Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT), CT Transit and the Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) are trying to figure out if changes are needed within the region’s bus system and they want riders to weigh-in.

So personnel working on the Hartford Transit Study--a data-driven examination of bus routes and rider needs--is making a stop in Wethersfield this Thursday. They’ll be at the Wethersfield Shopping Center CT Transit bus stop between 2 and 3:30 p.m. to solicit input.

A rain date has been set for Jan. 28.

Part of the study is assessing where bus riders travel to the most in order to identify what routes serve the widest need. Socioeconomic factors, among other rider demographics, will also be examined, according to the Hartford Transit study website.

The study will also look at rider volume per route and stop, as well as at various times throughout the day. Meetings, interviews and focus groups will make up the public input process.

The study, which began in the fall of 2014, was originally slated for an end of 2015 completion.
